Better late than never!

Well, here we are...halfway through 2013 and we have finally set up a blog. We will keep it updated regularly with news, music, videos, etc.

Since this is our first post, let's get you up-to-date with the goings on of Grey Skies Fallen, circa 2013.

We have recruited two new members into the band. One of which actually was in GSF way back in 2002. That would be guitarist Joe Sanci. Also, we have brought in bassist Tom Anderer from Buckshot Facelift. It's funny how things work out sometimes. Buckshot Facelift is a grind band that Sal has played drums in since 2005. Late last year, Rick joined that band on guitars. Once everyone got acclimated and ideas started flowing, we asked Tom to fill-in on bass for us for 3 shows we had scheduled in May. Well, filling-in turned into joining, and the new lineup was complete!

This is a strong lineup, filled with eager, hungry players looking to take GSF to the next level.

May 2013 saw the new lineup play our first shows together. We played 3 gigs with Boston band Swarm of Eyes. Shows took place in Worcester, MA, Brooklyn, NY, and Wallingford, CT. These were fun shows, and we are dying to get back out there.

Here is video of "Everything and Nothing At All" live in Brooklyn:

Dreams of Consciousness has written up a nice review for the Brooklyn show. In it, they said this about us:

"It feels like Grey Skies Fallen have been around forever, and for the life of me I can't figure out why they aren't bigger. Everything about their music seems designed to get Peaceville fans foaming at the mouth. Even their one-liners are delivered like eulogies: "We're going to speed it up a little, so you don't fall asleep." My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost are obvious influences, but rather than simply aping them, Grey Skies Fallen keep things interesting by adding elements of black metal to their maudlin doom. They end their set with a promise to be more active; let's hope the rest of the metal world notices."
This picture was taken in Connecticut, pre-show. It is the first band pic in years:

Currently we are writing what will make up our next EP. The songs will reflect the new blood in the band, and we hope to be in the studio recording sometime this summer. We will return to Audio Playground and once again work with our friend Keith Moore, audio extroidinaire.

That's all for now. Check back regularly, as this page will be updated frequently.
